He is currently a full professor of department of electrical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He was also a visiting professor in Santa Clara University (SCU) from 2011 to 2012. Prof. Song’s research interests include video coding, signal processing and computer vision. Prof. Song is a recipient of the National Science & Technology Progress Award (2015), the Okawa Foundation Research Grant (2012), serveral best paper awards from international conferences.

Inspired by state-of-the-art representation model like deep learning, and driven by modern biologically computational model for visual experience, we are working on better solution for video analysis, video processing and video compression.
