Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin
The Charité's Department of Surgery, CCM|CVK, is one of the largest surgical departments in Germany. Its research division, Experimental Surgery, has long experience with preclinical and clinical studies in the field of organ support and organ recovery. The laboratory facilities are equipped with dedicated facilities for cell isolation and cell culture, RNA/DNA analytics, histology, immunohistochemistry, microscopy including continuous time lapse video-microscopy. The living lab Future|OR Lab was created as an experimental space for the evaluation, testing and presentation of XR technologies in surgery and serves as the interface between research, industry and practice. The location within the Experimental Surgery enables the direct integration of the future users, i.e. the employees working there in the various health professions.
