Experienced project manager, researcher, and software engineer at IFE in Norway, working primarily on R&D projects for safety-critical industries. Has applied VR tech since 1995 and AR since 2001, with research focus on UX design, risk perception, and simulation, especially to support complex human-centred design processes. Typical applications include control centre design, safety training, and nuclear decommissioning planning. Governing board member of Open AR Cloud organisation.

IFE is an independent research foundation working in the energy, health, transport, and industrial sectors. The VR&AR department primarily performs applied research in industrial applications of 3D and spatial computing technologies. We have a strong focus on human-centred design, open formats, and cross-platform solutions for collaboration, combining 3D technologies with AI and simulation for decision-support and to improve situation awareness of users. Some of the software developed to support our research has evolved into commercial products, included HVRC CREATE (a suite of tools for designing control centres) and HVRC VRdose (a suit of tools for planning interventions in radiological environments). Our lab facilities, Halden VR Centre, support our research but are also used extensively for workshops with clients.
