David is the Academic Director of the MSc in Interactive Media, UCC. David's research interests are in the areas of immersive multimodal Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality, Serious Games, Spatial Sound and Biosensors and Physiological Measurement. In 2019 David established a new research lab titled MAVRIC (Mixed Augmented Virtual Reality & Immersive Computing). David is also a reviewer for a number of journals and conferences and is member of VR-First and the Technical Committee for the JVRB.
