Dr. Oliver Schreer is head of group in “Vision & Imaging Technologies” department at Fraunhofer HHI and coordinator of the EC project XR4ALL. His main research fields are 3D video processing and immersive interactive AR and VR technologies. He published more than 100 papers. In May 2019, Oliver Schreer and his colleagues I. Feldmann and P. Kauff have been awarded with the Joseph-von-Fraunhofer Prize entitled by "Realistic people in virtual worlds - A movie as a true experience".

The Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications - Heinrich-Hertz-Institute (Fraunhofer HHI), located in Berlin, is a leading research institute in the fields of mobile broadband communications, photonic networks, and electronic imaging for multimedia. The Video division with almost 100 researchers of this institute has a long experience in signal, image, and video processing. It comprises two departments that collaborate closely in fields related to multimedia and cover the entire chain of capturing, analysis, interaction, and visualization of 2D and 3D content (Vision and Imaging Technologies) as well as encoding and streaming (Visual Communication and Analytics).
