University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe

At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics (MMT) of the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe the teaching of main engineering areas from traditional mechanical engineering to interdisciplinary mechatronics are covered. The "Digitization along the product life cycle" presents an important discipline in the curriculum of MMT. The Students have the opportunity to get to know the methods and technologies of digitization during the product lifecycle of industrial products. For this purpose, MMT offers a modern xR-Lab, which equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software systems for VR, AR and MR applications. Thus, the students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and apply the xR technologies in the context of research and industry projects. In addition, the xR-Lab is a kind of open-lab for companies to explore and evaluate the potential and use of xR technologies for their own business processes through collaborative projects and workshops.
