Bruno Simões is a full-time researcher at Vicomtech. His expertise is in the fundamental and applied aspects of interactive multimodal systems, computer vision, and computer graphics. Until 2017, he studied and developed virtual or augmented reality systems for smart digital content and creative industries. Nowadays, he studies and explores the use of Cross Reality (XR) in the manufacturing sector as a tool to improve productivity and increase worker satisfaction.
Vicomtech
Vicomtech is a non-profit applied research centre for Interactive Computer Graphics and Multimedia located in San Sebastian (Spain). It is a non-profit association, founded in 2001 as a joint venture by the Fraunhofer INI-GraphicsNet Foundation and the EiTB Broadcasting Group. Among its 130 employees, more than 90 are researchers (+35 PhD). Vicomtech has over 15 years’ experience in the research and development of graphics, imaging, computer vision, interaction, information and artificial intelligence, artificial vision for analysis, control and quality assurance of processes and manufacturing goods; technologies which Vicomtech applies in multiple sectors. The role of Vicomtech in the market is to supply society with technology by transfer of primary research to industry.
